Town of Ashland Outdoor Water Restrictions
Effective July 8, 2010, the Town is going into Stage 1 water restriction immediately, which prohibits the washing of vehicles, and the use of irrigation systems and automatic sprinklers. This step is being taken due to the current level of the Hopkinton Reservoir, to try and curb the dropping levels of the reservoir due to the intense heat and lack of rain, which could quickly push us into Stage 2 restriction territory, a complete ban on outside water use.
Outdoor watering is permitted only by hand held bucket, can, or hose with automatic shutoff. Operation of ornamental pools and fountains, and filling of swimming pools from the municipal supply is also prohibited at this time.
Violations are subject to a $100 per day fine from the Town. Upon the fifth violation water will be shut-off.
These restrictions are in addition to the year round rules:
Watering is only allowed between the hours of 7:00pm to 7:00am
Odd number houses are allowed to water on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays
Even Number houses are allowed to water on Wednesday, Friday and Sundays
No Monday watering is permitted
